My apologies for not responding earlier.

It's sad to hear that you will be leaving Singapore. I hope you thouroughly enjoyed your stay here.

Can you leave me an email at hexaglider@yahoo.com and I will arrange to 'adopt' your Aristolochia plant, and ensure that it will be in good hands after you leave.

Once again, thanks for your encouraging comments on this blog, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

Warm wishes!Commanderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03035224272922037277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6432400397162178532.post-22276970616079020162011-12-27T11:10:30.080+08:002011-12-27T11:10:30.080+08:00Hello Sir,

I've also learned a lot about the backdrops of each butterfly's scientific name and host plant!
After living in Singapore for three years, I am leaving this beautiful country which is very sad.... I grew the Common Birdwing's host plant Aristolochia acuminata in my patio dreaming of finding this magnificent butterfly just happen to visit here. I only spotted them a few times in the nature reserves in the past and I couldn't see them in my patio. But a few common rose butterflies emerged from this plant. I would like to donate this plant, but don't know where I should make contact. I don't want this plant to die after my leaving....

It would be really appreciative if you give me some advice over my concern.

Sincerely,

Atsuあっつhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01728752888628684536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6432400397162178532.post-87776810320553397802011-08-24T15:58:42.774+08:002011-08-24T15:58:42.774+08:00You are most welcome, Andrea! Hence you will be more fortunate to photograph more species of our flying jewel friends than we can ever hope to, in Singapore.
We have a forum at www.butterflycircle.com/forums where we share photos and chat about butterflies. Our members come from ASEAN countries as well as the UK and US. Do join us if you have an interest in learning about butterflies. :)Commanderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03035224272922037277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6432400397162178532.post-62043149448532737552011-08-24T15:00:00.218+08:002011-08-24T15:00:00.218+08:00Commander, thank you so much for that advice. Do you know i opened all as in "ALL" your entries via the common names list because some species are common to our countries. How i wish those butterfly authorities here will compile our species and make something like this blog, so it will be easier for us to ID what we saw. We have lots of butterflies in our property here in the province.Andreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06044386271018560595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6432400397162178532.post-34183195761148202682011-08-24T14:52:20.475+08:002011-08-24T14:52:20.475+08:00Andrea, by shooting multiple shots and at high shu...Andrea, by shooting multiple shots and at high shutter speeds in combination with flash output, it is enough to 'freeze' the wings in motion. This is like how a bird photographer can shoot an in-flight hummingbird and freeze it in action.
An example can be found on this site - http://www.dyesscreek.com/miscellaneous_pages/howto_1.htmlCommanderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03035224272922037277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6432400397162178532.post-14230105501670846652011-08-23T12:35:36.906+08:002011-08-23T12:35:36.906+08:00Amazing photography and very informative details. ...Amazing photography and very informative details.
